Stefanie Lynn-Heyck
Regional Co-ordinator (starting February 2010)

I was born in Germany and came to the United Kingdom in 1995 to study Business with Japanese. As part of this course I spent a year living and working in Japan. After graduating I spent three years working in project management for a multinational organisation but soon decided to leave the corporate world for employment in social care and to teach and translate German on a freelance basis.

In my role as support worker and chaplaincy volunteer I enjoy working with people from many diverse backgrounds; whether they are homeless, have substance misuse issues, are refugees or are facing other challenges in their lives.

I regard inter faith work as a way to live my faith in action, therefore I am not only active in my own faith community but I am also a member of the Southampton Council of Faiths, Southampton Inter Faith Link and the Southampton Muslim Partnership (PREVENT steering group). I am passionate about promoting unity in diversity and the current move in the inter faith sector beyond dialogue towards joint action.
